History

In 1974, the year of Kap Yan on the Lunar Calendar, the TWGHs Board of Directors chaired by Mr Ko Kwok Yuen allocated the sum of a million Hong Kong dollars to establish an endowment fund and set up a number of scholarships dedicated to the furtherance of education in the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

With further planning and continual support from the successive Boards of Directors, and through the granting of a plot of land at Lot 27A in Choi Yuen Estate, Shek Wu Hui in Sheung Shui of the New Territories by the Hong Kong Government, the eleventh secondary school under Tung Wah Group of Hospitals came into existence.

Our school was commissioned in September of 1982 and was named “Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kap Yan Directors' College” to commemorate the Board of Directors in the year of Kap Yan on the Lunar Calendar for their dedication and devotion in the advancement of educational services.
