The 45th Student of the Year (SOTY) Awards Ceremony was successfully held today (11 July 2026) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai🎉. Organized by the South China Morning Post, sponsored solely by The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and supported by the Education Bureau, this year’s awards were themed "Leadership in Action: Shaping the Possible.” ✨

As one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious and recognized secondary school recognitions, the SOTY Awards aim to honor senior secondary students who demonstrate outstanding achievements in academics, arts, sports, and community service🌟.

We are thrilled to announce that our Form 4 student, Jaden Zhao Ziyu, won the Champion in the Linguist (Cantonese) category🏆, Jaden’s dedication to and exceptional command of the language📚 perfectly embodied this year's theme of active leadership🚀.

由香港價值教育協會、香港學校圖書館主任協會主辦的全港中小學校際價值觀教育讀後感比賽已於上周舉行頒獎禮。恭喜我校4D鄭浩楓同學榮獲高中組「全港優異獎」及「全港最佳影片製作」獎項。

同學透過閱讀經典名著，反思箇中的品德情意價值，並思考與現時社會及個人生活的關係。期望同學們能培養喜愛閱讀之餘，更能透過閱讀建立正向的人生價值觀。

The "2025-2026 North District Best Student Election" co-organized by North District Juvenile Association, North District Secondary School Principals' Association and North District Primary School Principals’ Association has recently announced the results.

Our school has achieved remarkable success in this year’s competition, with students capturing a total of 2 awards across the senior and junior secondary groups. These awards are a testament to the academic excellence and all-round talent of our students.

Congratulations to YANG ALPHA from Class 2B  for winning the First Runner-up  in the Junior Secondary Group! Congratulations to CHOI HOI TING from Class 5D for achieving Outstanding Award  in Senior Secondary Group!

Congratulations to all the awardees! The award presentation ceremony for this student election was held on June 13 at HKTA Tang Hin Memorial Secondary School. We look forward to our Kap-yan schoolmates working together, striving for excellence, cultivating moral character, and becoming the new generation of North District elites, contributing to the advancement of our society.

The Hong Kong Physics Olympiad 2026 concluded successfully recently, and our students achieved outstanding results in the competition! For individual awards, our students received a total of 5 awards, including 1 First Honour, 3 Second Honours and 1 Third Honour.

For school award, In recognition of our students' overall excellent performance, our school was awarded 4th Place for Best Schools Awards (only 11 schools across Hong Kong received this award).

由香港語文菁英協會主辦的2026 AI中文故事「繪」故事創作與AI圖像生成挑戰賽，已於上星期六（16/5）舉行頒獎典禮。

恭喜我校4D趙梓余同學以《不完美的陪伴》榮獲中學組銅獎，詹詠珊老師同時獲優秀指導教師。得獎作品亦已上載至「知書」平台，供公眾閱覽。

是次比賽需要同學構思一個繪本故事，然後運用人工智能生成插圖，再整理成一本電子書。是次比賽共有超過120所學校，合共超過1200位同學參加，趙同學能從中突圍而出，實屬難得。

《不完美的陪伴》講述未來世界的發展，人工智能機械人已深入生活各環節，趙同學以機械人照顧長者的視角出發，探討「陪伴」與「愛」的意義並非來自完美無瑕的絕對正確，而是挫折與成長。

再次恭喜趙同學獲得佳績，期望同學能善用科技與創意，結合文字創作，創作更多溫暖人心的故事。

2026「華夏盃」全國數學奧林匹克邀請賽（初賽、晉級賽及總決賽）日前已圓滿結束，本校同學在各個階段的賽事中均取得優異成績。

在初賽階段，本校同學表現出色，為學校贏得「十佳學校（中學）」及「團體成績中學組亞軍」兩項大獎。個人獎項方面，同學合共獲得19個獎項，包括8個一等獎、7個二等獎及4個三等獎。

晉級賽方面，同學共獲得7個獎項，包括3個一等獎、1個二等獎及3個三等獎。

總決賽方面，同學共獲得1個一等獎、2個二等獎及1個三等獎。

The Sing Yin Physics Olympiad 2025-26 was held on May 10, 2026.

Our student, Lin Ka Wa from Class 4D, achieved an outstanding result by ranking in the top 28 and was awarded the Certificate of Merit. Drawing over 200 participants from more than 32 schools, it is truly a remarkable achievement for him to have stood out from such a talented pool of contestants.

Organized by SCMP, the Student of the Year Awards has served as an annual celebration of the incredible and diverse talents of students across Hong Kong. The awards recognise excellence in all forms, including outstanding academic performance, talent in sports and the arts, dedication to community service, and transformative personal growth.

The 44^th Student of the Year Award Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on 12 July 2025 under the ‘Building Tomorrow: Growth Through Action’ theme. We are delighted that our Students 6D Li Langqing Sunny and 6E Huang Helen were shortlisted as the Finalists for the Student of the Year Award (Community Contributer, Merit) and Student of the Year Award (Linguist-Putonguha, Merit) respectively.

As the Head Prefect of 24-25, Langqing demonstrates her dedication to serving the school and the community. She also participated in publicity campaigns to promote anti-drug messages to the public.

Huang Helen’s linguistic prowess and dedication can be shown from her passion as a talented presenter and writer. She also actively promotes students’ interest in writing in school.

The Hong Kong Youth Award Scheme (AYP) recognizes students for their outstanding achievements in personal development and service. Our students demonstrated excellent performance in the scheme and received awards at different levels.

Ma Hui Ching from Class 5E received the Silver Standard;

Wan Hao Ran from Class 4A and Yang YuFei from Class 5C received the Bronze Standard.
