In August, 10 students joined the Joint Schools Summer Immersion Programme to Brighton, UK, for 17 days. They stayed with host families and studied at a local school in Brighton. They did not only go to school to study with international students from Germany, Japan, Israel, Spain, Russia, etc, but also attempted many activities which they had never tried before in Hong Kong, for example playing bowling and having fun at disco. They also had many chances to visit to several cities in the UK within 17 days, namely, Lewes, Oxford, Portsmouth and London. Among these places, our students had paid many visits to London to learn about the history and culture of the UK. They even had an outdoor history lesson in London! After the trip, our students’ confidence of speaking and using English is much enhanced.
