LI TIN SIU from Class 5D was selected to participate in the Oxbridge Outreach Programme, held from 20 to 31 July 2026. Only eight students across Hong Kong received full sponsorship for the programme, and TIN SIU was honoured to be one of them.
During the programme, ABC participated in learning activities at both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, receiving guidance from professors of the two universities. In these historic academic settings, she exchanged ideas with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds while exploring topics such as neuroscience, AI safety, climate modelling and fintech.
Learning extended beyond the conventional classroom. Through project work, debates, outdoor lessons, presentation training and team activities, TIN SIU strengthened her creative and critical thinking, communication, collaboration and independent learning skills. The diverse perspectives shared by other participants also encouraged her to analyse issues from different angles and verify AI-generated information carefully.
This valuable experience helped TIN SIU understand that although AI is a powerful tool for computation and analysis, it cannot replace human creativity, empathy, curiosity and sound judgement.
