Kap Yan Directors’ College held its 14th Film Festival on July 8th. The celebration of student film productions at Kap Yan is a long-held school tradition. Filmmaking Group cooperated with the History Panel to encourage films linking historical events to current issues and with the Biology Panel to explore environmental issues.
The filmmakers put in an outstanding effort in spite of extensive interruptions due to the pandemic. A group from Form 3 put together a program of 3 films for the viewing pleasure of the assembled audience, both in the School Hall and online.
The award for “Best Trailer” was taken by the Promotional Trailer for the Festival. “Best Motion Picture” went to “The wonderful story of Pythagoras”.
Mr Sanderson wore a gold lame jacket, while the Festival mascot Mr Seagull flew in sporting a sea-blue jacket and cap.
Over the summer holidays the same team put our newly upgraded Campus TV studio to good use as shooting began for their next production.
The Festival and Filmmaking Group exist to celebrate student achievement and to create authentic contexts for language learning.
