KYD Student Engaged for Community Arts Project

The organising committee of the District Youth Programme for North District recently engaged Form 5 student Lai Cheuk Yin to design the artwork for a production run of mask cases.  The re-useable plastic protectors will be given to residents of North District as a community service, sponsored by the Home Affairs Department. 

In the past, the committee engaged graphic designers from a production company to create artwork.  This time Ms Winnie Lam, a social worker from the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, became aware of Lai Cheuk Yin’s design skills from the Kap Yan Volunteer Team.  We hope that this precedent will lead to further opportunities for student artwork to be used for community service.
